February Planner

Well, my boyfriend's xbox has returned from being fixed and my piece and quiet has been shattered - I had forgotten what the sound of gunfire was like in the afternoon!!! While he was killing some baddies, I managed to make my February planner this afternoon. I used Dawny's fabulous sketch 7 from Papertake Weekly Challenge, the penny black image is coloured with distress inks and whispers, the papers are dovecraft and I have followed the paisley pattern of the papers through to the embossing. I made the flowers using my flower punch and I used the same paisley paper, finishing each one off with a small jewel in the centre.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: Green and navy card, dovecraft retro flower
Stamps: Penny black - poppy fields, studio g
Colouring: Ranger distress inks - vintage photo, walnut stain, tattered rose, fired brick, dusty concord, broken china and green and black whispers pens
Embellishments: Jewels
Tools: Cuttlebug, paisley embossing folder, water brush, flower punch
Thanks for looking x

Better Late then Never!

Instead of taking on the task of doing a calendar all in one go, I decided back in November each month I would make a planner for the following month..... and having done this in a timely fashion for one month, I am now behind already!!!! I know we are almost half way through January, but hey.... its better late than never!!!
I followed the fab sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge 1, and Secret Crafter Challenge 14 is anything but a card, so its perfect for that. The new stash that I have used are the image, distress inks and primas.
Supplies:
Card/Paper: Cream and lilac card, paper was a free download from Artymiss.
Stamp: Penny black, studio g
Colouring: Ranger distress inks - dusty concord, weathered wood, vintage photo, tattered rose, black soot and walnut stain.
Embellishments: Green ribbon, heart charm, prima flower, brads, jewels
Tools: Water brush

Sketch Saturday Challenge 29

This is the final tag I have made for my sister. I have followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge 29 and I have used red and green card, the paper was a free download from printable heaven, the penny black image is water coloured with my whispers pens, the snowflake is punched from gold mirrored card, I made the calendar on excel and I finished off with three small jewels. I distressed the edges of each element with my scissors and inked them with gold. This is the first time I have tried this distressing technique and I somehow managed to take gouges out of the sponge on my ink pad when inking!!! Do you ink first then distress??? Any advice on this would be appreciated!

December 2008 Planner/Calendar

As I work for myself, from home, some days there is more crafting going on that actual work!! so I have decided to start a little project where each month I will make a planner/calendar for the following month that I can write notes on and use as a little prompt!!! The WOJ Challenge 10 is to make anything but a card, Cute Card Thursday Challenge 38 is to use the colour lilac and finally I have based the planner on Dawny's Sketch 3 on Papertake Weekly Challenge. I have used purple and lilac card, silver mirrored card, the paper is from the dovecraft amethyst range, the WOJ image is coloured with water colour pencils, the two small purple squares and the lilac divider have been embossed using a cuttlebug (not sure which folders as they belong to my BFs Mum), the month label was done on my computer using the font tampus sans itc and I finished off with three jewel hearts and some die cut flowers. I did the planner section on excel - it has a bit of a strange layout, but it was the only way I could get it all to fit on an A4 sheet of card!!

SFOS Challenge 20 & Secret Craft Challenge 2

The Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 20 was to use pink and green and challenge 2 on Secret Crafter was a sketch. I have a stack of stamped images and thought this penny black image was ideal for the pink and green challenge but after duefully colouring it I realized that it was fairly large and I was going to strugle to fit it on a card following the secret crafter sketch.....so after a bit of deliberation I decide to make a 2009 calendar. For the picture section I used green and white card, paper from the kaboodle party picnic range, the penny black image is coloured with whispers markers, the title was done on my computer using the font Tempus Sans ITC, the trim across the middle was done using green card and a wavy silver peel off and I finished it off with three pearly flowers and some stickles on the water (although the stickles don't show up in the photo too well). For the calendar section I made a 2009 calendar in excel on my computer, printed it off on pink paper and mounted it on white and green card. I then mounted both the picture and the calendar onto pink A4 card and I added a row of die cut flowers across the middle, which I slightly embossed to make them stand up from the page, and added a small jewel in the centre of each one. I punched two holes on the top and used a piece of plated cord to make a hanger. I hope you like!
