CAS Poinsettia

Hello everyone, today I have a CAS card to show you that was really easy to make but looks really effective.....well I think so anyway! This month my fellow cupcakes have a challenge between us with a theme of "no image" so this card is perfect for the job!

For my card I used a Creatables Poinsettia die, for the card above I used the smaller die. I cut and embossed a shape out of red card and before I removed it from the die I sponged it with fired brick distress ink. I then removed it from the die and sponged the edges to add some definition. I repeated this again with red card and once with green card. When all of my shapes were cut I shaped them with a ball tool and I used liquid glue to stick them together. For the centre I used black card and I added a jewel to finish off.

The embossed background was done with my snowflake folder and the sentiment is computer generated. Finally, I stitched around the edge to finish off.

The final picture is of the two cards I made, the top one was made with the small die and the other one was made with the large die.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Red, green, black and white card
Ink: Distress inks - fired brick and peeled paint
Embellishments: Jewels
Tools: Cuttlebug, creatables poinsettia die, snowflake folder, sewing machine, ball tool, TH ink applicator tool

Cupcake Challenge 119

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 119 we have a theme of "Light it up" and we would like to see a candle somewhere on your card or project. This week we are sponsored by The Character Cafe and they are offering one lucky winner a $10 gift voucher as a prize. Apologies for the yellowish hue on my photo, the light was bad and the paper has a creamy/goldenish finish which didn't help!!

For my card I have used Willow with Lantern from Whiff of Joy.....love this stamp, I think she looks so elegant..... and I have coloured her with distress inks and added some sparkle with red stickles. The DP is from Fancy Pants and the ribbon, charm and jewels are from my stash.

Both the centre panel with the ribbon threaded through and the poinsettia have been created with creatables dies. For the poinsettia I used the smaller die in the pack and I cut and embossed two red shapes and one green one. Before I removed my shape from the die I sponged the red ones with fired brick distress ink and the green one with peeled paint to make the embossed elements really stand out. I then removed the shape from the die and I sponged around the edges. Finally I shaped them with a embossing ball tool, glued them together with a small blob of liquid glue and I added a golden jewel to the centre.

Also, don't forget our Cupcake Madness this month which is sponsored by Some Odd Girl, and make sure you check out the creations make by the other cupcakes....awesome!

Supplies
Card/Paper: Ivory and red card, Fancy Pants

Colouring: Distress inks - tattered rose, vintage photo, antique linen, walnut stain, weathered wood, black soot, peeled paint, spiced marmalade, fired brick
