Sugar Bowl Challenge 11

As promised earlier, this is the proper post for my summer card and I made it for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 11, where there is a fab sketch to follow with the added option of using pearls.

Once again I have made a matching card and tag combo and these will be for sale in my etsy shop, which should be up and running next week!

For my card I have used a gorgeous sugar nellie image which was very kindly sent to me by a blog bud (thanks hun!).

The image is coloured with distress inks and the very lush papers are from pebbles inc. I like these papers so much I almost didn't use them, but I thought they were perfect for the image, so I gathered all my courage and cut and stuck!!!

I used my swiss dots folder (again!!) for the embossed panel. I find this folder so useful as you can use it for continuous embossing if you have a longer piece to do, like I have done here.

For the inside I used the same papers and both the sentiment on the front and the one on the inside are computer generated using the font lucinda handwriting.

I made the one up on the inside and it reads (in case you can't see it on the photo) "I hope you have a flutterly fabulous birthday" - I'm quite pleased with myself for this one!!!!!

Almost done..... the matching tag is just the coloured image with some ribbon and matching embellies.

The flowers are primas and the branches are done with a leone em punch - I love this punch, it makes such dainty little branches.

I almost forgot to mention, I used the added option of pearls on both my card and tag.

My final picture below, is a close up of the image on the front of the card.

Supplies

Card/Paper: White and pink card, Pebbles inc.
Stamp: Sugar Nellie - Catch a Butterfly
Colouring: Distress inks - tattered rose, walnut stain, spiced marmalade, faded jeans, dusty concord, worn lipstick, weathered wood, peeled paint and antique linen
Embellishments: Primas, pearls, ribbon, pearl brad, spacer, charm
Tools: Cuttlebug, swiss dots folder, labels one and scalloped oval nesties, leone em branch punch, water brush.

Let the Summer Begin....Blog Hop

Hi ladies! I'm so glad you could join us for our first ever Stamptacular Blog Hop!

Before visiting me you should have already been to Paula, Nikki, Line, Priscilla and Donna and seen their fabulous creations, read all about what they do during the summer and left th
em a comment on one of their blog entries! If not...please go back! You won't want to miss out on your chance to win the Grand Prize once you've made it through our Hop!

So.....what do I do in Summer....well, it is a very hot affair over here in Spain so at the very height of summer I spend most of my spare time relaxing with my family either next to or in our swimming pool and when it gets too hot I seek some shade inside, and I head for my craft room. We also like to chill out watching DVDs, going out for walks with our two dogs and going out with friends. Also, throughout the spring and summer, we usually have a lot of friends and family that visit us from the UK, in fact tomorrow my boyfriends parents are coming for 10 days so I will have to go and do some housework!!!

I have included on this post a picture of my boyfriend, Jeff and our two dogs, Charlie and Monkey, so you can see who I spend most of my time with! and also I have included a summery card that I have just made. The card is also for a challenge, but I will post about that later on today!

Now your next stop on our hop is Joey's Blog......
so Happy Hopping!!

Sweet Baby Boy

Hi ladies, I have another card and tag combo for you here and this covers three challenges.

Firstly I have followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers Week 53, Challenge 33 on Secret Crafter has a theme of new beginnings and finally Penny Black Week 50 is to use buttons.

For my card I have used blue gingham paper which is a download and the penny black stamp is coloured with distress inks.

I have used my swiss dots folder for the embossing, this is my favourite folder and I use it for so many things, I don't know what I would do with out it!!!

The buttons are from papermania and I have threaded some white satin ribbon through the centre of the largest two for a bit of extra detail.

I have followed the sketch through to the inside of the card and I made the sentiment on my computer using the font lucinda handwriting.

My scalloped circle nesties have made an appearance once again to cut both the image on the front and the sentiment on the inside.

I have only made a matching tag for the card, no envelope, as this is only a stamped image, unfortunately I don't actually own the stamp.

For the tag base I have used the gingham download once again, printed onto cardstock. I have used my swiss dota folder for the embossing and coloured the image to match the card.

Finally, below, I have included a close up image of the front of the card.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White, blue card, Paper is a download.
Stamp: Penny Black
Colouring: Distrss inks - tattered rose, antique linen, walnut stain, vintage photo, peeled paint, spiced marmalade, dusty concord and broken china.
Embellishments: PM buttons, ribbon, pearls
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, swiss dots folder, water brush.

Cupcake 41, Stamp Something & ABC...O

Cupcake Challenge 41 has been set by the lovely Erin and the theme is 2-2-2. You have to use 2 colours (plus a neutral), 2 shapes and 2 pieces of ribbon.

For my DT card I have made another card, tag and envelope combo and I followed the sketch over on Stamp Something. This card also fits with this week's challenge on ABC which is O for orderly - you have to make a balanced card.

For my card I have used the WOJ Presents tower stamp and it is coloured with distress inks.

For my 2 colours I have gone for cream and blue and there is a little bit of white in there too for the neutral.

My 2 shapes are the circle and square and finally the 2 ribbon tabs are my two pieces of ribbon!

The papers are from Papermainia - antique cream and venitian skies pads.

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front and the sentiment is from WOJ.

The square with the sentiment is actually a little pocket, so money or a gift card can be placed in here, however it is not noticable if it isn't to be used for that purpose.

Finally, a picture of the matching tag and decorated envelope.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: Cream and blue card, Papermania, Antique cream and venitian skies.
Stamps: WOJ - Presents Tower and General Sayings
Colouring: Distress inks: broken china, antique linen, weathered wood
Embellishments: Pearls, american crafts ribbon
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, waterbrush

Be sure to chack out the fantastic creations the other DT members have made.

Stamptacular Challenge 8

Stamptacular Challenge 8 has a theme of "Oh, for the love of CHOCOLATE" - I don't know a girl that doesn't love chocolate so this week our challenge will give you an excuse to go and buy some....not that we usually need an excuse!!!! The rest of the DT have made some awesome projects, so go and check them out and join in with the fun. Also, next week we are doing a blog hop which will be loads of fun and we have some great prizes.

For my DT project I have made some decorative packaging for a chocolate bar, and just so you know, this chocolate is now long gone!!!! I have used the very pretty willow with flower basket stamp from WOJ and she is coloured with distress inks.

I used my fiskars edge punch to create the scalloped edges on the top and bottom and the paper is from my stash. The sentiment is also from WOJ and I made a little tag which is attached to the ribbon with a jump ring.

Just as a side note: I have been experiencing awful problems with blogger, as I'm sure a lot of you have, and they seem to be solved by using firefox as a browser - you can download it here. I got my blogger problems sorted then all day yesterday I had internet connection problems (unrelated to blogger), so I was tearing my hair out!!!! However, all seems to be sorted so I can now visit all of your lovely blogs once again!

Supplies
Card/Paper: Pink and white card, paper from stash
Stamps: WOJ - Willow with Flower Basket and General Sayings
Colouring: Distress inks - walnut stain, peeled paint, worn lipstick, faded jeans, tattered rose, vintage photo and weathered wood.

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 52

Evening ladies, the antihistamines that I am taking for my hay fever have finally started to work, so I am feeling much better now! and thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I have made another card, tag and envelope combo although I'm not sure how long I can keep this up as it takes so long to make everything!!

This is another one for my etsy shop, when I finally get it up and running, so it will be interesting to see if I can actually sell anything!!

I'm going to enter this for A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 52 where the theme is celebrate, a nice easy one!

I have used my Gorjuss Girl sitting yet again (groan) and she is coloured with distress inks.

The papers are from Laura Ashley and the embossed panel has been done with a border folder from the set "frills".

I have used the same layout for the inside of the card and the sentiment is from the Whiff of Joy General Sayings set.

I have used my oval nesties to cut out the sentiment and also to provide a place to write a greeting. I have just got a tan mat to do embossing with my nesties and I am really pleased with the effect it gives, I think it makes such a difference.

I have used my fiskars threading water punch for the edges along the bottom and the Dp has been sponged around the edges using tattered rose.

Finally, my matching tag and envelope.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and pink card, Laura Ashley - Contemporary
Stamps: SN Gorjuss Girls - Sitting, WOJ - General Sayings
Colouring: Distress inks - tattered rose, vintage photo, peeled paint, worn lipstick, antique linen

Sugar Bowl Challenge 10

Hi Ladies, I hope you are all well. I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, hay fever has struck!!!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 10 is a sketch by Marlene with the added option of using buttons.

I have made another card, decorated envelope and gift tag set using my lovely Gorjuss Girls.

For my card I have used the masking technique for the very first time and I think it gives a great effect.

I have coloured the image using distress inks and the papers are from K & Co.

The embossed panel has been done with my d'vine swirl folder and the card I have used is core'dinations gemstones - it has a lovely sheen in real life.

The flowers are primas and the button is from papermania.

I have decorated the inside to compliment the front and unfortunately this is the last of this lovely butterfly paper.....weep....weep.

I only have a few scraps left but they are a bit small to do much with.... might be able to get a tag out of them though!!

This is a closer photo of my tag and envelope.

The tag is just a simple image of the two girls together, finished off with some ribbon and a button. I had to keep it simple as the image is quite large, so if I'd added anymore the tag would have been huge!!!!

Also, I forgot to say earlier..... I have added a little stickles to the hair clips on all of the images for a little sparkle, but it doesn't really show in the photos.

And finally, the last image is a close up!

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White, pink and blue card, K & Co - sparkly sweet, Core'dinations - Gemstones
Stamps: SN Gorjuss Girls - just a girl and sitting
Colouring: Distress inks - tattered rose, vintage photo, walnut stain, worn lipstick, broken china, weathered wood and black soot.
Embellishments: Primas, PM buttons, ribbon, jewel, stickles - waterfall and fruit punch
Tools: Cuttlebug, d'vine swirl folder, water brush

Friday Sketchers Challenge 51

Hi ladies, this is going to be a bit of a long post with quite a few pictures......so you have been warned!!!!!

Friday Sketchers are celebrating their one year anniversary and there are loads of fabulous prizes on offer this week.

As usual, there is another brilliant sketch to follow and I have made this card and gift tag set for the challenge. Hopefully, when I eventually get around to it, these will go into my etsy shop!

I have used a blue card base, instead of my usual white for this one and the papers are from DCWV.

I have used the lovely Willow with Flower Basket stamp from Whiff of Joy and she is coloured with distress inks.

The sentiment is also from WOJ - the general sayings set, the flowers are primas, spacers and charm I got from ebay and the pearl brads are from papermania.

The embossed panel has been done with my stylized flowers folder, to keep the flower theme going - although most of it is hidden behind my image!!!

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

I have used my fiskars threading water punch to scallop the edges of the centre panel and the bottom edge of the area to write the greeting. I just love this punch, it is so versatile and easy to use!

I also made a matching gift tag from the left over pieces of DP. I used my scalloped circle nesties to cut part of the image and once again my fiskars punch for the border of the centre panel and a piece of white satin ribbon. I finished off with a small, blue jewel in the bottom corner.

For a little extra touch, I also decorated the envelope!

I have added a close up for my final image below..... if you are still with me that is!!!

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White, blue and yellow card, DCVW - Pocket full of Poses
Stamps: WOJ - Willow with Flower Basket, General sayings
Colouring: Distress inks - tattered rose, walnut stain, broken china, faded jeans, spiced marmalade, peeled paint, weathered wood, vintage photo, black soot. Silver gel pen for her bracelet.
Embellishments: Primas, spacers, charm, jewels, ribbon, peral brads
Tools: Cuttlebug, stylized flowers folder, nesties, fiskars threading water punch, water brush

I have used the very lovely Willow with Cookies stamp from WOJ and she is coloured with distress inks. The papers are from Laura Ashley and the embossed panels have been done with my d'vine swirl folder.

I have used my fiskars threading water punch for the scalloped edge along the bottom and I have sponged dusty concord distress ink around the edge of the DP.

The inside has been decorated using the same papers and I have added a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Both the recipe and the sentiment on the front have been done on my computer using the font lucinda handwriting.

I keep meaning to have a go at making these, but I have tasted cookies made with this recipe and they are yummy!!!

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and lilac card, Laura Ashley - Contemporary
Stamp: WOJ - Willow with Cookies

For my DT card I have used a Magnolia Edwin Stamp and he is coloured with distress inks. The paper is from basic grey and the embossed panel has been done with my swiss dots folder.

I always find it difficult to embellish male cards, but for a bit of extra detail I have added some photo corners and metallic brads.

I have also, once again, tried out using black for my shading......I'm getting braver!!!!

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and ornage card, Basic Grey - Boxer
Stamp: Magnolia
Colouring: Distress inks - walnut stain, vintage photo, tattered rose, worn lipstick, weathered wood, black soot, faded jeans, peeled paint and broken china.

Sugar Bowl Challenge 9

Afternoon all! Our visitors have just left so I can now get back to my crafting and blogging!!! I've just managed to do this card in time for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 9 where the theme is a male card.

I have made yet another baby card and have used the gingham papers from Chris once again.... I just love the fresh feel of them and they are so perfect for baby cards. I went with a green theme and I used my Dexter the Bear stamp which I was lucky enough to win on a TYI challenge.

I used my swiss dots folder for the embossing and ribbon and pearls from my stash to embellish.

I decorated the inside to match the front and used a cuttlebug alphabet (forget the name of it) for the wording "Baby Boy". I don't use this alphabet as much as I should - I forget that I have it!!! - so expect to see it a bit more in the future!!!!

The sentiment was computer generated using the font lucinda handwriting and it was cut and layered with nesties.

I also decorated the envelope to match the card and it is shown in the top image.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and green card, Downloaded from Chris
Stamp: SN - Dexter the Bear
Colouring: Distress inks - vintage photo, peeled paint
Embellishments: Ribbon, pearls
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, swiss dots folder, cuttlebug alphabet dies
Thanks for looking. x

Finally, I would like to thank the lovely Fern and Susie for giving me these awards. I really appreciate them and I would also like to thank everyone for all the lovely comments they leave me.

Anyway, I better go..... I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Stamptacular Challenge 5

Stamptacular Challenge 5 has a Mother theme and this week we are sponsored by Sketching Stamper Digi-Stamps. The other girls on the DT have made some amazing creations, so take a look and join in if you can.

For my DT card I have used one of Chris's fabulous images and it is coloured with distress inks. Instead of using my water brush, I just used a standard paint brush so very little water went onto the image and the printer ink held up really well.

The image has been cut with my nesties and the outer layer has been paper pierced for a little extra detail.

The papers are from K & Co and the outer edges have been stitched. This is the first time I have attempted to use stitching on a card, I love the effect but I don't have anywhere to set up my sewing machine permanently so I wont be stitching too often!

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and pink card, K & Co - McKenna
Image: Tulip bowl - Sketching Stamper Digi-Stamps
Colouring: Distress inks - peeled paint, fired brick, weathered wood, vintage photo, black soot
Embellishments: Ribbon, charm, jewels
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, needle, standard paint brush
