Friday Sketchers Ch 99, Papertake & Winter Wonderland Relaunch

Hello everyone, today I have another christmas card to show you and I have used a gorgeous Hanglar image that was sent to me by a blogging friend (thanks hun!). I am entering it into the following challenges; Friday Sketchers Challenge 99, this week's Papertake has a theme of something different and finally the Winter Wonderland relaunch has a theme of anything christmas.

I took my inspiration for my card from a card that has been made by the ever so talented Claudia, check it out HERE. It is her DT card for Friday Sketchers and I just loved the design, so I had to use it straight away (you know when you just get one of those moments!!!). Anyway, it is a fold I have never used before so it also fits in well with this week's papertake challenge. I have used a gorgeous Hanglar image and she is coloured with copics. The lush DP is from fancy pants and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. The blue flower originally started off white and I coloured it with a copic to match my card. The rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Sorry, I couldn't get a very good picture showing the way the card opened as it was a bit windy and it kept blowing over (I was nearly tearing my hair out in the end), but basically the front is only half a panel. The area to write a greeting has been stamped around the edge with two different snowflake stamps from Magnolia and I have added stickles to them for a bit of bling.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Blue and white card, Fancy Pants
Stamps: Hanglar image, WOJ sentiment, Magnolia snowflakes
Colouring: Copics - E00, E11, R20, Y21, YR23, B32, B23, B24, C1, C3, C5, YR00, YR02, YR04, W1, W3, W5, W7, 0
Embellishments: Ribbons, jewels, brad, flowers, stickles
Tools: Sewing machine, leone em branch punch, corner rounder punch, MS snowflake punch, MS trellis punch

Cupcake Challenge 88 & Simon Says

Hello everyone, welcome to another Cupcake Challenge! This week we have a theme of anything but a square and we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique who have very kindly provided the DT with some of their digi images to work with. I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Challenge where they have a theme of things with wings - I have butterflies on my DP.

As you can see I went with a very adventerous circle (not!!) but the other girls have made some far more marvellous creations so make sure you check out the challenge. I have used the very cute Audry Sitting with a Head Scarf and she is coloured with copics, cut out and popped up with foam pads. The card is only a diddy one as I stupidly didn't check the size of audry before I printed her and she came out fairly small, however she looked so cute I just had to use her so I made a small card. The card base has been cut with my largest circle nesties and the DP is a scrap from a K & Co pad - small cards are very handy way to use up all your scraps! The flower is from wild orchid and the brad and ribbon from my stash.

Supplies
Card/Paper:White and blue card, K & Co - Sparkly Sweet

Treat Pouch Tutorial

Hi everyone, today I have a tutorial to share with you that I first showed on the Whiff of Joy Inspirations & Tutorials blog. I'm going to explain how I make a treat pouch, they are really easy and are suitable to hold little treats, money or gift cards. So here goes....

Supplies
1 piece of designer paper - it doesn't matter what size as long as it is square
Bone folder
Adhesive
Image and/or embellishments to decorate

Step by Step

Step 1: For my project I am using double sided DP that measures 6 x 6 inches. If you are using double sided paper, begin with the side that you want on the inside of the pouch facing upwards. Fold your paper in half diagonally from corner to corner, crease with your bone folder to get a crisp fold.

Step 2: Take the bottom right hand corner and fold it over to the middle of the opposite diagonal, crease with your bone folder once again.

Step 3: Take the bottom left hand corner and fold it over to the middle of the opposite diagonal and crease.

Step 4: Take one layer from the top and fold down to create your pouch. I usually apply a little piece of double sided tape underneath to hold it in place.

Step 5: Pop your fingers inside the pouch and with the thumb of the opposite hand create a small dip, this gives your pouch a bottom.

Step 6: Finally, decorate your treat pouch. Mine is just a small pouch so I kept embellishments to a minimum and I just used the mini version of Charlotte Kissing Pigeon. She is coloured with copics, cut with labels one nesties and added to the front of the pouch with foam pads.

Here is a picture of the pouch and matching card. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial! Take care x

Cupcake Challenge 86

Hello everyone, today I have a card to show you that features the ever so cute Mo Manning image called Camping. It is also my DT card for Cupcake Challenge 86 where my teamie Catherine has chosen this week's theme of childhood memories. I am also entering it into the following challenges, this week's Simon Says Challenge  has a theme of card for a child, Stamp Somthing has a theme of stitching, Stampin for the Weekend has a theme of ribbons and bows.

The image has been coloured with copics and my DP is from Pebbles inc. My MS doily lace punch has made an appearance once again and I used ribbon and jewels from my stash to embellish. The sentiment is computer generated and cut with circle nesties.

I hope when this posts that the image looks ok, the lighting looks a bit strange when I'm writing this! Because the pictures in this new blogger are so much larger I'm going to stop doing my small close up picture as you can get a better view in the large one anyway!

Video Boy

Hello everyone, I have finally managed to get this card finished. I have had the image all coloured up for a few days, but I just couldn't get around to putting it all together! This is a DT card for Mo's Digital Pencil and the delightful image is called Video Boy and is available here - it is just perfect for a teenage boy! I am entering this card into a Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 98 where they have a theme of one for the boys.

If you are a huge fan of Mo's images, which I'm sure you all are, there is a guest DT call on at the moment over on Mo's Digital Pencil DT blog, so check it out, you could be the lucky one!

I have coloured this fabulous image with copics and just while I am writing this I have noticed that I forgot to colour his watch! Silly me, must remember to go back and colour it! The DP I have used is from basic grey and the ticket is from Tim Holtz. Embellishments are kept to a minimum, just a piece of ribbon and two buttons.

I am having a play around with this new blogger in draft and the image above is the extra large one, loaded directly with blogger rather than through my photobucket account. It will be interesting to see how it turns out, if it is large enough I may be able to do without photobucket. Finger crossed it is ok!

Supplies
Card/Paper: Navy and white card, Basic Grey - Boxer
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil - Video Boy
Colouring: Copics - E00, E11, R20, E50, E51, E53, E43, E47, E49, E33, E35, E37, B32, B39, B23, B24, B93, B95, B97, G94, G99, R27, R29, R59, C1, C3, C5, W1, W3, W7, 0

News

Hello everyone, I have just been having a much over due revamp of my blog and I still have a few tweaks to do here and there but I'm quite pleased with how it looks. I thought it would only take me half an hour but these things always take longer than you anticipate....so three hours later here we are!

Anyway, my news..... I am thrilled to announce that I am now a permanent part of Mo's Digital Pencil DT. I was so chuffed to have been asked and I am so pleased to be working with such a talented bunch of girls. At the moment we have a GDT call out for our May guest designer. We will have a monthly call that runs from the 5th to the 25th of each month and this month the sketch to follow has been done by ME! So don't panic.... it is a simple one!! lol! Anyway, we would love it if you would join in so pop on over to the DT blog here and give it a go.

I also have some more news, almost too much for a girl to handle in one go! I have just been asked to be on the DT for a craft store called 1 World Scrap. I am super excited about this, particularly because the store is based in Valencia close to where I live. The other girls on the DT make beautiful creations and I can't wait to start working with them.

I'll hopefully be back with a card tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by x

Cupcake Challenge 85

Hello everyone, today over on Cupcake Challenge 85 we have a theme of Make your own Flowers and this week we are sponsored by our regular sponsor Simon Says Stamp. I am also entering this card into the following challenges; Creative Inspirations Challenge 54 has a theme of sentiment only, Stamp Something has a theme of pink, Stamping for the Weekend would like to see ribbons and bows and Cute Card Thursday Challenge 106 would like to see eggs or ovals.

Well, my teamie Victoria certainly set a challenge for me and I'm afriad I have made a rather feable attempt. My made flower is the punched out one that is on top of my bought one.... rubbish attempt or what!! Making flowers isn't really my thing (as you can see!) but it is something I must try a bit more..... it might save me a bit of money! This card is for my neighbours birthday and she isn't into cute, so I just kept it simple and went with a sentiment only. The stamp is from the Whiff of Joy Store Kit Spring Bloom and my DP is from Laura Ashley.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Pink and white card. Laura Ashley - Contemporary Collection
Stamps: Whiff of Joy - Spring Bloom
Embellishments: Flowers, ribbon, brad, spacer, pearls

My Published Card

Hello everyone, the card I have to show you today was one of the cards that I had published in the second Magnolia Ink magazine. It fits perfectly with two challenges; Simon Says Stamp has a theme of distressing and Creative Card Crew Challenge 47 has a theme of vintage/aged.

Well, I really struggle to achieve a distressed look well, but when I reveived the DT kit for the magazine, it just said "distress" to me so I gave it my best shot and I was pretty pleased with how my cards turned out in the end. The stamp is an older Magnolia stamp from the Spring 2007 Valentine and Congratulations Collection and it is coloured with distress inks and highlighted with stickles. I have stamped all the edges of each element with different flourish stamps, also from Magnolia, and I have also distressed them with antique linen distress ink. I have used the Magnolia Old Valentine Letter stamp from the Valentine Collection 2009 to add some detail to a piece of card and also distressed it with antique linen.

Supplies
Card/Paper: All provided by Magnolia
Stamps: Magnolia
Colouring: Distress inks
Embellishments: Roses, stickles, heart, ribbon, pearls
Tools: Ink applicator tool, water brush
