Cupcake Challenge 177

Hello, this week over on Cupcake Challenge 177 we have a theme of recycling and we would like to see something recycled on your card or project. This week we are sponsored by Creations by AR who are offering us 2 templates as a prize and also they are offering anyone who takes part in the challenge this week a 10% discount (fantastic!!!) all you need to do is quote the discount code challenge10 when you place your order. Our second sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and they are giving one lucky winner 7 digital images. I am also entering my card into Totally Gorjuss Challenge 116 where the theme is KISS, and Secret Crafter Challenge 170 has a theme of ribbon.

For my recycled elements, I have used the die cut shapes and the snowflake from some christmas cards. I have drawn a line with a copic multiliner and popped up the die cuts with foam pads. I then added two small bows and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse. A very quick and easy card....we ended up with two christmas cards with these dies cuts on so I have salvaged some more, probably enough for another two cards so watch this space!!!!

Supplies
Card/Paper: White pearlised card
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Compliments of the season
Embellishments: Ribbon, die cuts

Christmas Crackers

Hello everyone, today I have a Christmas cracker to show you. I've wanted to have a go at making a cracker for a while so I eventually got my finger out and made one! The one I have done is fairly large and more suitable as packaging for a gift rather than pulling! I am going to enter this into the following challenges; Totally Gorjuss challenge 111 has a theme of "for someone special"...this little gift will be included with my husband's presents, and this week at Papertake they want to see your last christmas makes....I'm well and truly getting to the end of it all now!

The tutorial I used is here, it was really easy to follow and it gives you all the measurements etc. I used DP from DCWV, my DP is quite stury so I didn't put in the extra supports like the tutorial suggests. I also adapted the tutorial a little, I cut a window in the top and added some acetate so you could see the contents of my cracker, but obviously, this is optional.

I embellished my cracker with ribbon and added a sentiment using my Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Christmas Stamp set.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Cream and kraft card. DCWV
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Very Vintage Christmas
Ink: Distress ink - antique linen, Memento tuxedo black
Embellishments: Ribbon
Tools: Nesties, trouvaille

I'm Back with Hugs!

Hello everyone, I am back from my hols in Florida. We had such a great time but I think I left my mojo in the states as it has taken me ages to get back into the swing of it again. However this week I managed to pick up a copic and use some of the new stash I bought while I was away. The card I have made fits the following challenges; I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers Challenge 125, this week's Simon Says has a theme of punches and die cuts, Totally Gorjuss Challenge 53 has a theme of sparkle, Just Magnolia Week 78 has a theme of pink, and this week's Papertake Challenge has a theme of sparkly and bright.

For my card I have used Tilda Wants a Hug from the Magnolia Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010 and I have coloured her with copics...... although having been away for a while and out of practice I had to paper piece the dress to hide a bad colour choice and naff colouring!!!! The DP is from K & Co and the ribbon and jewels are from my stash. The flourish die cut was cut with a Marianne Creatables die and I stitched around the edges of all the elements with my sewing machine.

I know that technically this is a christmas stamp but I have added two little star shaped jewels to her hair and I hope the holly leaves aren't too obvious!!

Cupcake Challenge 95

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 95 we have a theme of One for the Boys and this week we are sponsored by Digital Delights and they are giving us a £10 gift voucher as a prize. I am also entering this card for the following challenges; Totally Gorjuss Challenge 34 has a theme of one for the boys and Stamptacular Challenge 63 also has a theme of men.

The image I have used is from Mo's Digital Pencil and it is called Paul Texting, it is just great for those awkward teenage boy cards! I have coloured the image with copics then distressed the edges with antique linen and walnut stain. Distressing is someting I struggle with but I have found that since I have got my copics my inks are just sitting gathering dust so I am going to try and use them more often as I really love how distressing around the edges of my image has really made the image itself stand out..... well I think so anyway!!! My DPs are from MME and they have also had the distressing treatment. I also missed out my usual mat layer under my DPs, I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but it is growing on me!! As it is a male card my embellishments are minimal, just some brads and a TH ticket.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Brown and cream card, MME - Wild Asparagus
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil - Paul Texting
Colouring: Copics - E00, E11, R20, B93, B95, B97, E50, E51, E53, E57, E43, E47, E49, G21, G94, G99, W1, W3, W7, W7, C1, C3, C5, 0. Distress inks - walnut stain, antique linen, weathered wood.
Embellishments: Brads, TH Ticket
Tools: Inkessentials sponge tool

A Labour of Love!

Hello everyone (again!), I was going to post this card tomorrow but I have just finished it and decided to post it straight away, it has been a total labour of love and it seems like it has taken me ages to do! I started it last week and I have done other cards in between but at one point I thought I was never going to get it finished!!! It is a Whiff of Joy DT card and all of the stamps I have used are from the Whiff of Joy Stamp Kit Birdie Love. I am also entering it into the following challenges; I have followed the sketch from Totally Gorjuss Challenge 20, Copic Creations Challenge 23 is to use green, Stamp Something has a girly theme, Cute Card Thursday Challenge 102 has a green theme, Simon Says Stamp has a mother/girly theme, Quixotic Challenge 15 has a theme of leaves and finally Stamp with Fun Challenge 49 has a spring theme this week.

Right, onto the card! I have wanted to make a paper bag card for ages and I finally got around to buying some brown papers bags and having a bash at one. All the stamps are from Whiff of Joy and all images have been coloured with copics. The DP is from DCWV and the ribbon, jewels, flowers, spacer and brad are from my stash.

On the inside of the card I made a pocket on one side the holds two tags and decorated the otherside. I made an insert that slides inside where a greeting can be written.

My final image shows the two tags and the insert pulled out so you can have a better look. I stitched around all the elements of my card using my sewing machine. I am going to use this card for my Mum on mothers day, I think I may also get a voucher for a garden centre to pop in the pocket on the inside as a gift.
