Goosebump Tilda

Hello Everyone, today I have a card to show you from the Magnolia Turning Leaves Collection 2012. I am entering this card into the following challenges; Tilda's Town Challenge 28, Simon Says Stamp and Creative Card Crew Challenge 24 all have a theme of anything goes.

For my card I have used Goosebump Tilda from the Magnolia Turning Leaves Collection 2012 and she is coloured with distress inks. The DP is from basic grey and I have used doohickey dies to cut the decorative edge and the swirl. I finished off with some ribbon and jewels.

Tomorrow is a Blank Page

Hello everyone, today I have a card to show you using a stamp from the Magnolia Graduate and Student Collection 2009. I am entering this card into the following challenges; Creative Inspirations Challenge 177 has a theme of sentiments, Creative Card Crew Challenge 17 has a theme of script/maps/newsprint (my script is on my tags) and Charisma Cardz Challenge 33 has a theme of lace.

For my card I stamped the Tomorrow Sentiment from the Magnolia Graduate and Student Collection 2009 using memento tuxedo black ink and cut it out using a labels 2 die. While it was still in the die I sponged it with antique linen and vintage photo distress inks. The DP is from basic grey and I sponged around the egdes of each element with distress inks. I used the scalloped stitched lace doohickey die for the decorative edge and the so wrapped lovely die for the tags. I sponged each tag with distress ink and I stamped them with the Old Valentine letter background stamp from the Magnolia Valentine Collection 2009. I finished off with a doily, some lace, flowers, twine, a brad and some pearls.

Walter the Moose

Hello everyone, today I have a card to show you using a mix of new Magnolia stamps and older ones! I am entering this card into the following challenges; this week's Simon Says Challenge has a theme of animal antics, Just Magnolia & Hanglar & Stanglar Challenge 167 has a theme of pearls and swirls, Cute Card Thursday Challenge 229 has a theme of tags, and Secret Crafter Challenge 198 has a theme of gold, silver or bronze.

For my card I used Walter the Moose from the new Magnolia Turning Leaves Collection 2012 and he is coloured with distress inks. The DP is from MME and although it isn't christmas DP I think it works quite well, being red and green!! The sentiment is the post vintage merry christmas stamp from the Magnolia So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009 and it is stamped in memento rich cocoa ink. I used doohickey dies to cut out the tags and swirls and I added some ribbon and gold bells to the tags.

Finally, a close up of the tags. They have been distressed with vintage photo distress ink and one is stamped with Love Holly and the other with sweet snowflakes from the Magnolia Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection 2011.

Cupcake Challenge 195

Hello everyone, today over on Cupcake Challenge 195 it is my turn to choose the challenge and I chose the theme of tags. Once again, we are sponsored by our regular sponsor Simon Says Stamp and they are giving one lucky winner a $20 gift certificate to spend in their store.

I am also entering my tags for the following challenges; Simon Says Stamp and Secret Crafter Challenge 188 both have a theme of anything goes. Now, before I go any further I must warn you there are loads of pictures!!

I decided to prepare myself for christmas early as I'm always a last minute girl, so I have made a load of tags using various stamp sets from Waltzingmouse.....details of all the sets are given at the end of this post. For each of my tags I have used memento tuxedo black ink, cut them out using the relevant nestie and distressed them using vintage photo distress ink. Finally I added an extra long length of satin ribbon, to enable them to be tied around a bottle, bag, or gift.

For the standard tag shape I just used my corner chomper on the 1/2 inch setting to round off the corners.

TOMIC Challenge 49

Hello everyone, apologies, I am two days late with my post, I have been so busy! I went for my 20 week scan on Monday and had a midwife appointment this week too aswell as being really busy at work so it has been all go! This is my card for TOMIC Challenge 49 we have a theme of bingo! For my card I have chosen the pearls, Magnolia DP and flowers line.

For my card I have used Waterlily Tilda from the Magnolia Summer Memories Collection 2012. The DP is from Magnolia and I have used a doohickey die for the decorative edge. I used distress inks to colour my image and I finished off with a doily, flowers, ribbon and pearls.

Miamia the Flamingo

Hello everyone today I have a card to share with you that features another stamp from Magnolia's new collection, Summer Memories 2012. I am entering this card into the following challenges; I have used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenge 22, Just Magnolia & Hanglar Week 155 have the theme of anything goes, Creative Card Crew Challenge 9 has a theme of ribbon and this week's Papertake has a theme of anything goes.

For my card I have used Miamia the Flamingo from the Magnolia Summer Memories Collection 2012 and she is coloured with distress inks.....hadn't had them out for a while so I thought I'd give them a whirl!!! The DP is from basic grey and I have used a MS punch for the border. I finished off with some stitching, pearls and ribbon.

Balm of Friendship

Hello everyone, today I have a card to show you that my sister asked me to make for her to give to a friend and I have used the fabulous sketch from Waltzingmouse Challenge 81.

I was lucky enough to win the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge and the rescue remedies set was one of the sets I bought with my voucher.....I love this set and I can see it getting used A LOT!! I stamped my image and cut it with a nestie. While it was still in the die I sponged it with antique linen and vintage photo distress inks. The DP is from basic grey and it has all been sponged with vintage photo ink too. Finally I finished off with some blue satin ribbon and the brad is from Laura Ashley.

Cupcake Challenge 175

Hello everyone, over on Cupcake Challenge 175 we have a theme of winter birthday and this week I have made a very quick one layer card. This week we are sponsored by My Mum's Craft Shop who are kindly giving us a £10 gift voucher as a prize.

For my card I tried a technique that I had never done before, but had wanted to try for a while.....I masked off my card base and sponged ink directly onto it. First I used spun sugar then added a little worn lipstick to the edges for a bit of depth. I really like the effect but I think I need a bit more practice to get it to look sharper......this was my second attempt, the positioning of my masks wasn't so good on my first one!!! I then used a snowflake from my WMS seasons of love set and stamped it using spun sugar. I finished off with the sentiment, also from WMS fancy phrases set.....and that's it!!

Seasons Greetings

Hello everyone, I have a couple of cards to show you today, and yippee!! only a few more christmas cards to go! I am entering my cards into the following challenges: Creative Card Crew has a theme of tis the season, Papertake has a theme of anything goes, Simon Says has a photo inspiration - I have chosen the image with the poinsettia, and finally Stamptacular Challenge 142 has a theme of christmas glitz.

The first one is made using stamps from my Waltzingmouse very vintage christmas set..... I cut out a circle with a nestie, while is was still in the die I sponged the card with antique linen distress ink then stamped some snowflakes, finally I stamped my sentiment with memento tuxedo black ink. The DP is from basic grey and I made the poinsettia using marianne creatables dies..... I cut the first layer of my flower from red card then I sponged it with fired brick distress ink while it was still in the die, I repeated it again with red then once again with green card. I then shaped each of the layers using a ball tool and a mouse mat and then I glued them all together. The centre was cut with black card, shaped and popped in the middle. Finally, I added some swirls cut from a marianne creatables die, some ribbon and jewels.

For my second card I used the same layout.....I worked well with my first one so I thought why not!!! I used a frame from my Waltzingmouse vintage labels four set, stamped it with memento then coloured it using a copic marker, finally I used a sentiment from the very vintage christmas set. I made the spirelli using bakers twine and a scalloped circle, and I added a button and a heart shaped jewel to the centre. I finished off with some die cut swirls, ribbon and jewels.

Finally, I have a bit of a toot....one of my jewellery sets made it onto the front page of Etsy yesterday, I was so chuffed!!

Cupcake Challenge 171

Hello everyone today over on Cupcake Challenge 171 we have a theme of DIY where we would like to see you make your own papers.

So for my card I have used my Waltzingmouse stamps yet again.... I love the very vintage christmas set and have used it for most of my cards this year. To make my DP, first I distressed my card with weathered wood distress ink and a TH blending tool, then I used the border stamp from the set and I repeatedly stamped it in weathered wood ink. I left a space at the bottom to stamp my sentiment. The other DP is from Magnolia and I finished off with some ribbon a button and jewel from my stash.

TOMIC Challenge 12

Hello everyone, today over on TOMIC Challenge 12 we have a special challenge for you. It is the birthday of Magnolia Ink Magazine and as it is printed on recycled paper we would like to see something recycled on your cards/projects.

For my card I recycled some dictionary pages from an old english/spanish dictionary.



So onto my card.... I have used Tilda Writing Diary from the Magnolia Right Through My Heart Collection 2010 and I have coloured her with copics. The DP is also from Magnolia, the something old, something new collection, and I have stitched on a piece of a dictionary page. All the elements were sponged with antique linen distress ink and edged with walnut stain.

The seam binding is from wild orchid and I coloured it using antique linen and walnut stain inks so it would match my card, and I tied a double bow using my bow easy tool. The flowers and pearls are also from wild orchid and I finished off with a little silver stickles along the hem of her dress.

Cupcake Challenge 119

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 119 we have a theme of "Light it up" and we would like to see a candle somewhere on your card or project. This week we are sponsored by The Character Cafe and they are offering one lucky winner a $10 gift voucher as a prize. Apologies for the yellowish hue on my photo, the light was bad and the paper has a creamy/goldenish finish which didn't help!!

For my card I have used Willow with Lantern from Whiff of Joy.....love this stamp, I think she looks so elegant..... and I have coloured her with distress inks and added some sparkle with red stickles. The DP is from Fancy Pants and the ribbon, charm and jewels are from my stash.

Both the centre panel with the ribbon threaded through and the poinsettia have been created with creatables dies. For the poinsettia I used the smaller die in the pack and I cut and embossed two red shapes and one green one. Before I removed my shape from the die I sponged the red ones with fired brick distress ink and the green one with peeled paint to make the embossed elements really stand out. I then removed the shape from the die and I sponged around the edges. Finally I shaped them with a embossing ball tool, glued them together with a small blob of liquid glue and I added a golden jewel to the centre.

Hello everyone, well I have got my act together after my holidays and I am now back in the swing of DT creations too so this week over on Cupcake Challenge 115 we have a theme of thank you with autumn colours. For my card I have used Christmas Eve Tilda from the Magnolia So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009 and I have colored her with distress inks. I love this stamp as I love the way that it can be used all year round for a variety of different occassions..... so versatile!!! The background has been inked with antique linen and vintage photo and I have stamped the Old Valentine Letter from the Magnoia Valentine Collection 2009 in vintage photo ink too.

All the DPs are from Papermania and each one has been inked with antique linen and edged with walnut stain inks. The punched edge was done with an MS punch that was one of my new purchases from when we were in Florida and the ribbon and pearls are from my stash. The sentiment is from WOJ, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I punched out the little branches with my leone em punch.

Well, distressing is a nightmare for me and although I can't bring myself to rip and rough up my papers, I can manage a bit of inking! Since I got my copics at christmas my distress inks have been thoroughtly neglected but I have dusted them off and used them to colour Tilda with Birdcage from the Magnolia Pet Collection 2009. My DP is from Basic grey and I have distressed each element with antique linen and edged with vintage photo. I really love how this card turned out.... I'll have to get my inks out a bit more!

Cupcake Challenge 95

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 95 we have a theme of One for the Boys and this week we are sponsored by Digital Delights and they are giving us a £10 gift voucher as a prize. The image I have used is from Mo's Digital Pencil and it is called Paul Texting, it is just great for those awkward teenage boy cards! I have coloured the image with copics then distressed the edges with antique linen and walnut stain. Distressing is someting I struggle with but I have found that since I have got my copics my inks are just sitting gathering dust so I am going to try and use them more often as I really love how distressing around the edges of my image has really made the image itself stand out..... well I think so anyway!!! My DPs are from MME and they have also had the distressing treatment. I also missed out my usual mat layer under my DPs, I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but it is growing on me!! As it is a male card my embellishments are minimal, just some brads and a TH ticket.

My Published Card

Hello everyone, the card I have to show you today was one of the cards that I had published in the second Magnolia Ink magazine. It fits perfectly with two challenges; Simon Says Stamp has a theme of distressing and Creative Card Crew Challenge 47 has a theme of vintage/aged.


Well, I really struggle to achieve a distressed look well, but when I reveived the DT kit for the magazine, it just said "distress" to me so I gave it my best shot and I was pretty pleased with how my cards turned out in the end. The stamp is an older Magnolia stamp from the Spring 2007 Valentine and Congratulations Collection and it is coloured with distress inks and highlighted with stickles. I have stamped all the edges of each element with different flourish stamps, also from Magnolia, and I have also distressed them with antique linen distress ink. I have used the Magnolia Old Valentine Letter stamp from the Valentine Collection 2009 to add some detail to a piece of card and also distressed it with antique linen.

My Terrible Twosome

Hello everyone, today over on Cupcake Challenge 76 we have a theme of four legged and furry which has been set by our very own Shelly. I am also entering this card into Penny Black Challenge 86 which has a theme of someone special - I made this card for Jeff's Mum's birthday.


Well there is a little tale behind this card - Jeff's Mum really likes our dogs so for her birthday card I decided to use my PB stamp and colour him in to "look like" our two dogs. Monkey is supposed to be on the front and Charlie on the inside......


Can you tell??!...... No, niether can I!!! lol!! Ah well, the idea was good but I'm not sure if I pulled it off!!!

Anyway, onto the card... the images have been coloured with distress inks and the DP is from Basic Grey. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment on the inside is from Whiff of Joy.
