Cupcake Challenge 227

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 227 we have a theme of "with bells on" and we would like to see bells of some sort on your card/project. This week we are sponsored by My Mum's Craft Shop and they are giving us a £10 gift voucher as a prize.

For my card today, I thought I'd make an early Christmas card and I used stamps from WMS Seasonal Remedies set. I stamped the image with memento rich cocoa ink and I distressed it with antique linen and vintage photo ink then I gave the same distress treatment to my background card and I repeatedly stamped my main image over again with antique linen to make my background.

I finished off with the usual stitching, some ribbon and a bell. This was very quick and easy to make but I really love the finished look, it also doesn't have a lot of layers either so hopefully it won't cost too much to post!!!

Supplies
Card/Paper: Ivory and red card
Stamps: WMS - Seasonal Remedies
Colouring: Distress inks - antique linen and vintage photo. Memento - rich cocoa
Embellishments: Ribbon, bell
Tools: Sewing machine

Cupcake Challenge 225

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 225 we have a theme of anything but a card and our sponsors this week are Pink Gem Designs who are giving one lucky winner 4 digi images of their choice.

For my project this week I have made some cupcake toppers. My sister is hosting a baby shower for her friend and she asked my to make some toppers for her. It isn't known if the baby is a girl or a boy so I went with a blue/pink colour combo but stuck with generic wording which I created on my computer. I cut out each sentiment with a circle nestie, stamped in blue or pink the old valentine letter background from the Magnolia Valentine Collection 2009 and then distressed each one with antique linen and vintage photo distress ink. I then layered this onto a scalloped circle that had also been distressed. For the back I used up some scraps of DP and gave each one the distress treatment too!

I cut down some skewers to the appropriate length and attached my circles with foam pads. Finally I finished off by adding some ribbon to each one.

Sorry about the awful photos, the sun was just too bright to get a decent shot.

Supplies
Card/Paper: White card, various scraps of DP
Stamps: Magnolia - Old Valentine Letter - Valentine Collection 2009
Embellishments: Ribbon
Tools: Trouvaille, nesties

A bit of recycling

Hello everyone, today I have 4 CAS Christmas cards to show you and to make these I did a bit of recycling!! After last christmas I put aside 4 cards that had been sent to us and I thought I could recycle parts of them to make some CAS cards for this year.

The patterned shapes and the snowflake came off one card and we received two cards with a red glittered front and a large gold glittered shape. I used my heart, star and circle nesties to cut shapes from the glittered card and I ended up with an assortment of die cut shapes. After a bit of arranging I decided what would go where and I created these four cards.....which I have to say I am really pleased with and they look really effective in real life!!!

All the sentiments came from WMS and I used my copic multi liner to draw in the fine black lines. I used my corner chomper to shape the corners and I finished off each card with a ribbon bow.

I hope you all have a fab Christmas and new Year. xx

Supplies
Card/Paper: White card
Stamps: WMS - Seasons of Love, Compliments of the Season
Embellishments: Ribbon
