Cupcake Challenge 177

Hello, this week over on Cupcake Challenge 177 we have a theme of recycling and we would like to see something recycled on your card or project. This week we are sponsored by Creations by AR who are offering us 2 templates as a prize and also they are offering anyone who takes part in the challenge this week a 10% discount (fantastic!!!) all you need to do is quote the discount code challenge10 when you place your order. Our second sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and they are giving one lucky winner 7 digital images. I am also entering my card into Totally Gorjuss Challenge 116 where the theme is KISS, and Secret Crafter Challenge 170 has a theme of ribbon.

For my recycled elements, I have used the die cut shapes and the snowflake from some christmas cards. I have drawn a line with a copic multiliner and popped up the die cuts with foam pads. I then added two small bows and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse. A very quick and easy card....we ended up with two christmas cards with these dies cuts on so I have salvaged some more, probably enough for another two cards so watch this space!!!!

Supplies
Card/Paper: White pearlised card
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Compliments of the season
Embellishments: Ribbon, die cuts

Cupcake Challenge 175

Hello everyone, over on Cupcake Challenge 175 we have a theme of winter birthday and this week I have made a very quick one layer card. This week we are sponsored by My Mum's Craft Shop who are kindly giving us a £10 gift voucher as a prize.

For my card I tried a technique that I had never done before, but had wanted to try for a while.....I masked off my card base and sponged ink directly onto it. First I used spun sugar then added a little worn lipstick to the edges for a bit of depth. I really like the effect but I think I need a bit more practice to get it to look sharper......this was my second attempt, the positioning of my masks wasn't so good on my first one!!! I then used a snowflake from my WMS seasons of love set and stamped it using spun sugar. I finished off with the sentiment, also from WMS fancy phrases set.....and that's it!!

Supplies
Card/Paper: Pearlised white card
Stamps: WMS - Seasons of Love, Fancy Phrases
Ink: Distress inks - spun sugar, worn lipstick
Tools: TH blending tool

Ho Ho Ho

Hello everyone, just a quick post from me today with a last minute make. I needed a few extra gift tags, as you do, and this is just a quick one I put together.

I used a scrap of DP and I have no idea of the brand, sorry! All the other elements were also made using scraps of card or recycled items..... its a great way to use up all your odds and ends. The tulle was wrapped around a box of chocolates I received as a gift from a student, it looked so pretty and I managed to rescue some that wasn't creased or crumpled by the bow, just enough to make a couple of tags! The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse very vintage christmas and it is stamped in fired brick distress ink, I then cut it with a nestie and sponged it with spun sugar distress ink while it was still in the die, love this look! I then popped everything together and added a couple of bells from my stash and hey presto, a cute tag!

This is probably my last post before christmas, so I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. xx

Supplies
Card/Paper: Red and white card. DP - ??
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - very vintage christmas
Ink: Distress inks - fired brick, spun sugar
Embellishments: Tulle, bells
Tools: Sewing machine, trouvaille, nesties, ranger blending tool, corner rounder punch

Christmas Crackers

Hello everyone, today I have a Christmas cracker to show you. I've wanted to have a go at making a cracker for a while so I eventually got my finger out and made one! The one I have done is fairly large and more suitable as packaging for a gift rather than pulling! I am going to enter this into the following challenges; Totally Gorjuss challenge 111 has a theme of "for someone special"...this little gift will be included with my husband's presents, and this week at Papertake they want to see your last christmas makes....I'm well and truly getting to the end of it all now!

The tutorial I used is here, it was really easy to follow and it gives you all the measurements etc. I used DP from DCWV, my DP is quite stury so I didn't put in the extra supports like the tutorial suggests. I also adapted the tutorial a little, I cut a window in the top and added some acetate so you could see the contents of my cracker, but obviously, this is optional.

I embellished my cracker with ribbon and added a sentiment using my Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Christmas Stamp set.

Supplies
Card/Paper: Cream and kraft card. DCWV
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Very Vintage Christmas
Ink: Distress ink - antique linen, Memento tuxedo black
Embellishments: Ribbon
Tools: Nesties, trouvaille

Hello everyone, today on Cupcake Challenge 173 we have a fabulous sketch to follow that was created by our cupcake mummy, Fluff. This week we are lucky enough to have three sponsors; Crafty Emma's Store are giving us a £10 voucher as a prize, Digital Delights are giving one lucky winner their choice of 3 digi images and Tickled Pink Stamps are giving a winner the choice of a rubber stamp or two digi images.

For my card I have used Frosty with Snowflake from the Magnolia So Snowy Collection 2009 and the O'Frosty the Snowman text stamp from the same collection. Also our icing on the cupcake sponsor this month is Polka Doodles and they have given us the fab prize of a CD collection. To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is join in with one of our challenges.

Snowflakes

Hello everyone, today I have made two CAS cards that are my last christmas cards that I need to post....only a couple more to make to hand out! I am entering them for this week's Less is More challenge which is a one layer card with a theme of snow, Creative Inspirations Challenge 141 has a theme of snow, this week's winter wonderland challenge has a theme of snow, and one layer is also the theme for the WMS December Christmas card Challenge.

I think black and white always looks so elegant and I am really pleased with how these cards turned out.....so quick to make too! I used stamps from the WMS very vintage christmas set....the two larger snowflakes were stamped using one of the individual snowflake legs that are in the set. To finish off I added a bit of bling to the centre of each snowflake....and that's it!

Here is a final pic of the two cards together.

Supplies
Card/Paper: White card
Stamps: WMS - very vintage christmas
Ink: Memento tuxedo black.
Embellishments: Jewels
