Hello everyone, this week over on Cupcake Challenge 137 we have a theme of Doctors and Nurses and we would like to see a get well card or project. This is a scheduled post as I am currently in the UK, so hopefully you can see it and blogger hasn't let me down! Edit: Blogger did let me down! hence this post is a bit late, it should have been showing on Monday...sorry!

The sentiment and accent under it are from waltzing mouse fancy phrases set and the small flourish accent has been embossed with lilac embossing powder. To finish off I used ribbon from my stash.

Supplies
Card/Paper: White and lilac card
Stamps: Waltzing Mouse - Fancy Phrases set

Less is More Week 8

Hello everyone, the card I have to show you today is a first for me....a DL card......I have never made one this size before but I love it and I think it looks really elegant in real life! I am entering it for Less is More Week 8 where there is a sketch to follow. My fellow cupcakes and I also have a monthly challenge between us and this month the theme is C for.... so my entry is C for CAS.

My first shot shows the full length....quite difficult to get a photo without it looking like the card is tipping forwards!!!..... not sure I have achieved this!!!

And the second shot is a close up. For my card I have used some gorgeous matt white card and I have embossed it with my swiss dots folder on the bottom. The red satin ribbon is from my stash as are the jewels. The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse....I masked off each word so I could position them one over the other rather than in a straight line.

Supplies
Card/Paper: White card
Stamps: Waltzing Mouse - Fancy Phrases set
Embellishments: Ribbon, jewels
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, swiss dots folder

Cupcake Challenge 134

Hello everyone, over on Cupcake Challenge 134 we have a theme of monochromatic and this week we are lucky enough to have two fabulous sponsors; the first one is Prairie Fairy Designs who are giving us the prize of five images of the winners choice, and secondly Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn is giving us the prize of a £10 gift voucher and anyone who reads the cupcake challenge post is entitled to a 10% discount on any purchases made this week, all you have to do is quote the code: CUPCAKEBLOG at the checkout....fantastic!

I am also entering my card for the following challenges; Just Magnolia and Hanglar have a theme this week of favourite colour combo (a tough one as I love so many, especially pink, but you can't beat a classic black and white combo for any occassion!), this week's Papertake challnge has a theme of three - I have used three different magnolia stamps and three different patterned papers if you count my doily as one!

For my card I have used Secret Tilda from the Magnolia Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010 and she is coloured with copics and accented with silver stickles and a ranger inkssentials pen. The sentiment is one of the Magnolia minis and it is just the perfect size to pop on the side of an image, and the flourish is also from Magnolia but it is actually a long stamp for a border, but I just partially stamped it to get the effect I wanted.

My DP is from DCWV and the doily is from Create4fun. I used a spellbinders fancy tag to create my two white tabs, which also came from Create4fun. Finally, the ribbon and jewels are from my stash.

This month our icing on the cupcake prize is sponsored by Wild Rose Studio who are giving us two gorgeous stamps as a prize, and all you have to do is enter at least one of our challenges this month to be in with a chance to win.

Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone, today I have am finally getting around to enter two challenges that I have wanted to join in with for a while, but never had the time to do it.... although I think I might have joined in with one of them before! The first one is Waltzingmouse Challenge 137 where I have used the sketch and the other one is Less is More Week 5 where the theme is pastel colours.

For my first card I layerd three layers of matt white card with the top layer being embossed with an embossing folder from craft concepts called cottage floral. I then used a stamp from the Waltzingmouse Victorian Frippery set and some lilac ink to create the background. The sentiment is also from Waltzingmouse but it is from the fancy phrases set and I finished off with a row of bling.

I mounted the sentiment onto my card with some foam pads for a bit of dimension. I really loved how this card turned out and I'm starting to get the hang of CAS cards....so much so I made another one!!!

This card is made in exactly the same way as the one above, except I stamped the background with sage ink and I had some matching sage ribbon in my stash.

One more image from another angle! I really loved making these cards and I hope to do a lot more in the future. They are so quick but yet so effective..... it takes me longer to figure out what to do than to actually do it!!

Supplies
Card/Paper: White matt card and paper
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Victorian Frippery set and Fancy Phrases set
Ink: Lilac and sage
Embellishments: Jewels, ribbon
Tools: Cuttlebug, embossing folder - cottage floral

News

Hello everyone, I just thought I'd do a quick post and let you all know my news..... I'm getting married! As you all know I have started a wedding stationery business and Jeff's mum decided to pop along to a wedding show that was at their local shopping centre to see what was there and if she could pick up any pointers for me..... well, while she was there she decided to enter a competition and didn't she just go and win it!!! Turns out the prize is a wedding package worth £5,000 which she said was ours if we wanted it!!! We have been together for 5 years and would have got around to getting married eventually, but opportunities like this don't come around very often so we decided to go for it! We are getting married at the Hilton Hotel in Dundee on 1st October this year.... my head has been overflowing this week and although I have a few cards to post, I just haven't got around to it (or visiting your blogs either), so I will be back tomorrow with a card (hopefully!)
